Why I Take Supplements (Even Though I Eat Clean)

For a long time, I didn’t think I should need supplements.
I was eating the veggies. I was loading my plate with greens. I was doing all the “right” things.

So when my bloodwork came back showing low potassium, iron —and other imbalances—I was confused.
How could that be?

It wasn’t until I went through my Integrative Health Practitioner training and dove deeper into the why behind supplementation that it finally made sense.

Our Food Isn't What It Used to Be

It’s easy to assume that eating healthy is enough. And yes, it’s incredibly important—but the truth is, the nutrient levels in our food aren’t what they used to be.

Over the past several decades, modern farming practices have dramatically depleted the soil. This means fewer minerals in the ground, and therefore fewer minerals in the plants we eat. An apple today doesn’t have the same nutrition as an apple 50 years ago.

Even organic produce isn’t immune—because the issue isn’t just pesticides, it’s what’s missing from the soil itself. Add in environmental toxins, stress, gut imbalances, and our fast-paced lives, and it’s easy to see how most people end up running low on the very nutrients their bodies need to thrive.

I Thought I Was Doing Everything Right

Despite a healthy diet, I still struggled with:

  • Low energy

  • Overwhelm and anxiety

  • Dull skin

  • Sluggish digestion

My body was doing its best, but it was running on a partial tank. Once I started using supplements in a way that was intentional and supportive—not random or trendy—things began to shift.

Supplements Aren’t a Crutch—They’re a Tool

One thing I always remind my clients (and myself):
Supplements aren’t a replacement for healthy living. They’re a tool to help you fill the gaps.

You don’t have to take everything forever. The goal is to use what you need, when you need it, and adjust as your body changes. It's not about chasing the next magic pill—it's about completing the picture of wellness.

Where I Start

Most people don’t need 20 different bottles on their shelf. When someone’s just getting started, I always recommend beginning with the foundations:

  • Daily Nutritional Support – A simple way to get essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and more in one easy scoop.

  • Daily Fruit & Vegetable Blend (Greens Powder) – Helps increase daily plant intake and support digestion, energy, and inflammation—especially for picky eaters or busy mornings.

Want to Know What You Actually Need?

Every body is different. That’s why I offer one-on-one coaching—to help you figure out what’s missing, what’s working, and how to build a plan that’s realistic, natural, and made for you.

If you’ve been feeling off despite your best efforts, I’d love to help you get to the root of it—gently and intentionally.
