Subconscious Habits That Could Be Holding Back Your Healing
There was a time I felt stuck — not because I wasn’t doing everything, but because I wasn’t doing anything fully.
I had the best intentions. I wanted to feel better. But I always had a reason to wait:
“I’ll start tomorrow.”
“I don’t know enough yet.”
“I just need to fix this one thing first.”
Looking back, the biggest thing standing in my way was… me.
Here are some of the subconscious habits that held me back — and maybe you’ll see a few of your own in them, too:
1. Always Rushing
I was constantly in a rush. Rushing to figure it all out. Rushing to feel better. Rushing to fix myself.
But healing doesn’t happen in hustle. It happens when we slow down and give our body and mind time to breathe.
2. Waiting to Know Everything Before Starting
I used to think I had to learn it all first — every supplement, every protocol, every answer — before I was "qualified" to start.
But the truth is, healing starts when we begin. Not when we know it all.
3. Fear + Delay
I was scared to start. Scared of failure, scared it wouldn’t work, scared of not doing it “right.”
So I’d put it off. And when I did try, if I didn’t see instant results? I’d stop.
I’ve learned that consistency matters more than perfection — and delayed healing is still delay.
What Helped Me Shift
Everything changed when I started becoming more present with myself.
When I started paying attention to what I was thinking, how I was feeling, and why I kept getting in my own way.
From there, I began to:
— Slow down
— Simplify my life
— Get serious about rest and sleep
— Start journaling
— Create a rhythm that worked for me
— Take breaks without guilt
The Mindset I Come Back To
One thing I remind myself of often is a simple phrase from my mentor, Dr. Cabral:
“Every day, in every way, I am getting better and better.”
That, and the belief that I am capable of healing — even when it’s hard.
Healing isn’t about being perfect. It’s about showing up, again and again.
What I Wish I Knew Sooner
You don’t have to do it perfectly.
You don’t need the perfect plan or the perfect time.
If you never start, nothing changes.
